I agree that this impacts the arguments for FTTH. I wanted to start building some more detail on this aspect of internet connectivity to combat the "run fibre to my bach and NZ will lead the world" discussion going on -- blog comments don't provide sufficient space :-)

Of course.

But this also blows a hole in economic growth through FTTH arguments. Host with your local co-location provider, create better interconnects between carriers and you get a better environment for economic growth for less cash spent.
